In an alternate reality, our story takes place in the last known inhabitable place on earth, inside mankind’s last known city.
A city that is made up of thousands of skyscrapers and nothing else.
The size of New York, Tokyo and London combined, for the first 200 years of it’s life it was known as ‘our city’. But since the appointment of a charismatic young billionaire Mayor, it has been renamed ‘our last chance.’
And the city of our last chance works just like any other, schools, hospitals, a police force and even a fire department. It still has independent businesses and even offers places of leisure.
Though what separates it from a normal city, is all of this is housed within skyscrapers that are a mile up from the poisoned earth below, a poisoned earth that is constantly clouded in a thick poisonous smog.
But so much time has passed that people don’t even know how it got to this point anymore.
